Healthy Tech Pledge
Well Wired advocates for healthy tech at home, in our schools, and in the community. Our mission is to change the status quo and foster a new generation of thriving kids who spend more time outside and socializing with their friends (in person!) and less time on addictive devices and apps. Well Wired promotes dialogue about healthy, intentional tech use with kids and families and advocates for limited, educationally valuable use of tech in our schools. Join Well Wired and meet like-minded families seeking a balanced approach to children's use of technology.

We're excited to announce that the Well Wired Healthy Tech Pledge is officially here! We are asking Central Oregon families to pledge to give basic phones or watches to their kids until high school and to delay social media until age 16.
With this pledge, we hope to grow a community of kids who, together, use basic communication tools, allowing them more time to experience childhood without the pull of addictive tech. By prioritizing in-person connection and being intentional about the tech we give our young kids, we will support their development and strengthen our families and community.
If you are a parent/guardian of an elementary and/or middle school aged child* (or are a member of the community who supports this pledge) and you'd like to change the status quo around kids & tech today, please join the movement, sign our Healthy Tech Pledge, and share with your friends and family! Pledgers will have the opportunity to connect with other Well Wired families who have kids attending the same school and/or who live nearby.
We recognize that every family is different. And we know that a pledge is not for everyone and is only one small step in the uphill battle of managing our kids & tech. However, it's one step that we can take collectively to make the uphill a little less steep. If you'd like more information about WHY you should delay addictive tech, please check out some of the Resources on our website, and here is a compelling video presented by a former social media strategist and user experience (UX) designer who is now educating adults and teens about addictive tech, including smartphones and social media.
Healthy Tech Together!
Best,
Brooke & Ami
